Nick Cave - Soundsuits

I just returned from the Nick Cave lecture at the MFAH about his soundsuits.  His suits are in an exhibit right now at the CAMH "Hand+Made: The Performative Impulse in Art and Craft."

(image from LOUDreams) Movement and performance has always interested me, and I am actively working to expand my knowledge of contemporary artists who are able to push the limits of these practices.  Also at the MFAH I recently saw Ziya Azazi, a dervish/dance performance artist, perform his piece "Dervish in Progress" live.

I've been testing the waters in my own art practice by participating in 100 Black Women, 100 Actions, and through the drawing performance that I coordinated for the "Extended Drawing" opening reception.
